The Gathering Place is a nonprofit organization and one of ten peer run centers in the state. Contracted with the Wisconsin Department of Health services The Gathering Place serves adults who have lived experience of mental illness and mental illness with addictions. The Gathering Place is managed and staffed 100% by individuals who have mental illnesses. They offer an array of recovery oriented support groups, wellness programs and activities.
The Gathering Place announces Discovering Hope Through Peer Support 9th Annual Community Day Open House and Fundraiser. For Community Day they open their doors to individuals across the state, the city and the neighborhood. It's a day to show off their house and an opportunity for the community to visit with staff, volunteers and members and a day to celebrate mental health. They have a raffle fundraiser to include a team autographed Packer football, there will be door prizes, food and refreshments will also be served. This year's annual Community Day is on August 24th from 4:30 to 7:00 PM at The Gathering Place 1001 Cherry St. in Green Bay.
